January Musings
January 9, 2024
The first month of the year represents a clean slate. Holiday decorations come down, homes are decluttered and organized, and often times we find ourselves going back to the basics.
This January, we're feeling especially inspired by Après-ski style, warm wood tones, Calcutta Turquoise, and, of course, the ever-classic, ever-perfect chocolate chip cookie.
Warm Wood Tones
There is something so cozy yet modern and clean about the layered warm wood tones we have seen lately in mountain modern design. This updated version of mountain modern is tonal, minimal, and somewhat rustic. It's giving Aspen Ski Chalet.
Something Classic
Something about the New Year makes us want to turn back to the basics. And what is more basic than a chocolate chip cookie?
But this isn't just any chocolate chip cookie, it's THE chocolate chip cookie.

Something Red
Are you even on Instagram if you haven't seen the resurfacing Après Ski aesthetic? While Après style has always been a timeless classic, we love that it's having its main-character moment again.
A red puffer coat is one of the quintessential Après staples, and you already know that we love a bright pop of color.

Calcutta Turquoise
You know and love Calcutta Viola. How could you not? She has been in the spotlight this year more than ever! However, if you love Calcutta Viola but want a different take on the look, you may want to consider her equally beautiful but under-appreciated cousin, Calcutta Turquoise. Calcutta Turquoise has the same veining and depth as Calcutta Viola, but instead of the warm mauve and wine tones, this stone has a jaw-dropping blue-gray veining.
