The Lake House Pt. IV – Bunk & Media room
March 8, 2024
Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to the final part of the Lake House reveal! If you follow us on Instagram, then you've definitely seen sneak peeks of this bunk room, but today, we're taking a deep dive and talking about all of the little details that make this space SO darling.
First things first, you know we have a love-hate relationship with built-in bunk beds. They are SO pretty, functional, and they sleep lots of guests... but they are a pain to put bedding on! Trust us, we've made up more bunk beds in our career than we can even count.
After years of resenting bunk beds for this reason, we FINALLY came up with a solution. We made a video on our Instagram explaining all the details.
Woodland Adventures
Since this lake house is located on the most stunning mountain property, we wanted to pull inspiration from the landscape for this space. This 'Woods & Stars' wallpaper from Cole & Sons really kicked off the design of this room.
Obsessed is an understatement.
This wallpaper beautifully depicts an Aspen forest scene, which could not be more perfect for this home because Aspen trees are native to Utah and are scattered throughout this property.
Continuing the woodland theme, we selected a country plaid and this darling embroidered fox textile for the shams - which we alternated bunk-to-bunk to give the space a playful, mismatched vibe.
A Vanity For Three
Okay... we recognize that the vanity mirror is missing. It didn't arrive in time to photograph, but this bathroom was just too cute not to capture.
Since this bathroom is a shared space, we incorporated this darling trough sink, which has three separate faucets. We love using trough sinks for bunk rooms because they make it really easy for all the kiddos to get ready for bed at the same time.
Space For Entertaining
Obviously, these clients wanted their home to be a place where family could come and visit. So, we needed some awesome entertaining spaces for family gatherings and game nights. This media room has a game table, a ping pong table, and an enormous sectional to seat all the kids and grandkids for movie nights.
