The Lake House Pt. I – Kitchen & Dining
February 21, 2024
The wait is finally over, people!!! Welcome to Part I of our Lake House Reveal!
After three years in the making, this gorgeous lakeside retreat is finally complete, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Here, a connection with nature, from its mountain location to the materials used throughout, reigns supreme.
Let's take a first look at the kitchen and dining room.
Bringing The Outdoors In
The design of this home is significantly influenced by its stunning location. Situated in the mountains of Eden, Utah, and sitting on the banks of its own private lake, we really wanted to mirror the rugged landscape in all the finishes.
The reclaimed wood beams are one of our favorite features throughout the kitchen, dining, and great room. These beams are over 100 years old and were salvaged from the Great Salt Lake, thanks to our friends at Huskey Timber. We love incorporating local and salvaged materials because they add so much history and charm to new builds and build on the heritage of the pieces.
An Ode To Open Shelving
We recently read an article claiming that open shelving is "out" this year... and we couldn't disagree more! Not only is open shelving so beautiful, but there is no better way to display your aesthetic, personality, or collected treasures than by styling open kitchen shelving.
We styled these shelves with hand-crafted ceramics, bespoke glassware, and antique iron mortar & pestles (reminiscent of an old-world pharmacy) to give the kitchen a collected and heirloom atmosphere, which we love.

Dinner With A View
This cozy dining room overlooks the property's private lake. We didn't want the design of the dining room to compete with or overtake the dreamy views but wanted this space to feel like an indoor extension of the landscape. We carried the same reclaimed wood ceiling from the kitchen into this space and added a subtle pattern with this stripped linen wallcovering from Phillip Jeffries.
