The Lake House Pt. III – The Bedrooms

Helllllloo, beautiful internet friends! And welcome back to Part III of our Lake House project tour!
We've taken ya to the main spaces of the home, so today, we are venturing down the hallways and into the primary and guest suites. From the very beginning, we knew that every facet of this project needed to be designed for hosting. The client wanted their home to be a place where the family could escape and enjoy a quiet weekend stay at the family lake house. It was important that each guest room had a bathroom and that everyone had a space of their own.
But before we get to the guest spaces, let's start in the primary suite.
The Primary Suite
This primary suite is the epitome of a lakeside cabin bedroom. Vaulted timber ceilings, a stone fireplace (with a reclaimed wood beam mantle), and lots of textures and patterns all contributed to the cozy cottage character of this space.
But the real star of this primary suite would have to be the balcony views overlooking the private lake at the back of the house. Perfect for those warm summer nights.
The primary bathroom is light and bright, but we still wanted to incorporate some rustic textures in this space. We found the most stunning tile (Exotic Woods - Ecopatina, from Contempo Tile), which mimics the look and texture of white-washed wood. Giving the space a rustic look and feel while still functioning beautifully in a bathroom.
Guest Suite No. 1
On the lower level of the home, you will find three guest bedrooms.
In the first guest suite, we kept the palette of the space super soft and minimal to create a relaxing and restorative environment for visiting family or friends. We incorporated the same reclaimed timber found throughout the home's main level to create a cohesive theme and added this Knole Chandelier from Currey & Co. which felt simple, delicate, and beautiful in all the right ways.
Guest Suite No. 2
Here, in the second guest suite, we went a little deeper with the color scheme. We carried this palette into the bathroom with this stunning Casablanca Heritage ceramic tile, which is neutral but adds a lovely pop of pattern to this space. You already know we have a thing for fun tile, so we immediately fell in love with this option because it's a little bit playful but doesn't feel too funky for the home.
Guest Suite No. 3
This bedroom arguably has some of the best views in the home. The house has a daylight basement, meaning the lower level of the home opens right up to the private lake. In this room, visitors can see the entire lake and the mountains surrounding it, all while lying in bed.
We love the light blue palette of this suite and think it will play into the lake house vibes beautifully once the warmer weather arrives again.
Pretty Pretty Tile Combos
Okay, this might be our favorite bathroom out of the three guest suites.
The patterned mosaic tile, paired with the light gray/blue subway tile on the shower walls, with the creamy ivory penny tile on the shower floors???

Every detail in this bathroom is simple and understated, but it came together in the most stunning way possible, and we're so obsessed.
